Kim Crandal began her professional development in Chicago in the interior design/ retail marketing and merchandising field. Honing her sales and operations skills, she embarked on a successful career at ABC Television in Chicago, test marketing the viability of the then nascent cable TV industry.
After working for nearly 10 years in the home raising two daughters, Kim re-entered the workforce with a new passion for the hospitality business. She was promoted to catering director of Royal Melbourne Country Club within one year of hire, and, as a member of the opening staff team, she helped coordinate the $19 million on-site marketing program that achieved capacity membership in the first 9 months of operations.
From the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s, Kim perfected her hospitality skills first as clubhouse manager and later as interim general manager of Exmoor Country Club in Highland Park, Illinois. Recognized as a "Platinum Club of America" by the Club Leaders Forum, the 110-year-old facility is known throughout the Chicago metropolitan area for its creative year-round events and top drawer service.
In 2005, Kim made the move to California. As a respected hospitality executive and food & beverage consultant, Kim continues to create menus and wine lists, implement computer network systems, introduce point-of-sale systems in all areas of operations, design and implement creative banquets and special events, and oversee multi-million dollar club renovations with interior designers.
Most recently, Kim has focused on orchestrating numerous professional chef cooking demonstrations at city festivals and major book outlets while sharing the story of Savor a Taste of the California Desert. Kim is past president of the Chicago Chapter of Women in Cable and a former Board Member of the Greater Chicago Chapter of Club Managers. Kim volunteers her time to coordinating charitable golf events, and is helping to lay the foundation for the annual Palm Springs Restaurant Week.
